Installation as Teaching

Toward Renewal and Belonging: Art, Movement and Community

“To speak of knowledge is futile. All is an experiment and adventure. We are forever mixing ourselves with unknown qualities” (Virginia Woolf, 1931, 2015).

These words speak to the quality of the journey introduced in my Installations and Course Design. A series of artworks and designed scenarios and invitations engage participants in an embodied, creative and self-reflective journey.

My approach to art education focusses on enhancing creativity by offering safe and hospitable learning environments for body and mind. The invitation is to reach past obstacles which may be held in physical tension resulting from internalized critical narratives.
